Social media can be overwhelming, and a bit scary. I’m not new to managing and growing social media accounts, but I am new to doing it for my own brand. I find myself asking why is it that it’s so much easier to believe in and sell someone else’s vision than my own?
It may be that I don’t want to be perceived as braggy or narcissistic.. but I think the more honest answer is that I’m scared of putting myself out there. So, fears aside, I know what to do and how to do it. It’s just a matter of action.
But for some, the world of social media and social selling is a brand new playing field. I’ve learned from many resources, and the amount of information out there is unbelievable! So, I’m working on a series of posts that focus on the best info out there that has helped me along the way.
And here, friends, is my first recommendation:
The Hubspot Marketing Blog
While I don’t currently use their CRM software, I LOVE the Hubspot blog. They publish so much content that it can be overwhelming, which is why I subscribe for their regular email updates that give you a quick peak into their new posts. I don’t read all of them, but they really know how to create a click-worthy headline. Being on their email list is worthwhile even if you just read the blog titles and study what makes you want to click. If it draws you in, the same style will likely drawn in your readers!
Hubspot created one of my favorite resources: The Ultimate Cheat Sheet of Photo & Image Sizes on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn & Other Social Networks [Infographic]
A recent post by Lindsay Kolowich (@lkolo25) also contained 8 ways to increase your social reach AND info on getting started on some of the most popular social platforms. These links are a great place to start if you are looking to add a new social network to your business marketing strategy:
- An Introduction to Twitter for Business
- An Introduction to Facebook for Business
- An Introduction to LinkedIn for Business
- An Introduction to Instagram for Business
- An Introduction to Pinterest for Business
If you’re ever hesitant to hand over your personal information to download an eBook, the Hubspot content is nearly always worth it! They have really taken content marketing to a new level.
That’s all for now, but I will be back with more tips, tricks and hacks very soon!
